This course will study the melodies of classic bebop tunes (melody, harmony, rhythm, etc) & melodic and rhythmic development in the improvising of classic “boppers.” An approach to applying tune fragments and common patterns and licks as a core vocabulary for modern jazz will be presented, including guided practice demonstrations.
